Due to good weather I’ve been riding my bike (the kind with a motor) and my bike (the kind powered by a human) to work and have had no reason to even start my car. And I feel a little weird.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s been a dry couple of weeks. The last rainfall was actually on Friday, which was also Canada Day, meaning I had the day off. I decide to go on a ride after waiting out the rain and all’s fine until I head up north and get caught in a different storm system. Pictured above is me waiting for the inclement weather to pass in a car wash bay. Eventually I got back on the road and a coffee from Tim’s helped keep me warm.

The forecast calls for rain again this Friday. I hope my car’s battery is still good...

This is a perfectly normal phenomenon, in the summer my cars get hooked up to the trickle charger and stored, in the winter it’s the bikes.

Nothing wrong with that! Enjoy the ride, there is nothing better.

I had a good streak of about 2 weeks going, but then Ohio decided it wanted to piss water from the sky all week. I pretty much ride every day I can. Unfortunately I have to dress nice for work and I don’t have a great rain suit or waterproof gear so when the weather gets crappy I have to retreat to the cage

some how, all three of my bikes are out of commission (the 2 SV’s actually are, the BMW just needs a bunch of stuff done that I cant because my other two bikes aren’t running)

god dam it.

Yeah, now that the weather is good, I’m on my bike commuting 5 days a week most weeks. The car gets used weekly or biweekly.

And I’m trying to set up a winter commuter bike as well. Maybe I’ll get 50,000 miles on the car before it’s 10 years old...

I’m kinda itching to drive actually. You do the entire summer with no car at all?

Crappy weather is no fun. I do view riding when wet as an unnecessary risk since morning commuters are either in a rush or half asleep because they haven’t had their coffees yet, and throwing rain into the mix doesn’t help.

Get your shit together! You ever go to the Leslie/Lakeshore meetup on Thursdays?

I’m ALWAYS there. The only one I’ve missed this year was 2 weeks ago when i was in north carolina.

I’m teaching tonights, so i will be there. Look for the bravarian buzz saw, not the SVXR :D

I went a month I think without having to put gas in my Jeep.

The bike(s)? Filling one or the other up every two days.

At this point when I do drive it feels very weird for the first few miles.

Except for trackdays and hauling stuff, yeah. When I go for a pleasure drive and the weather is nice, It’s going to be on a bike.

You should work in California, you can wear what you want, and always good riding weather. Hell, the CEO cruises around the office in his socks he’s so chill. I haven’t driven my car to work in months.

I’m actually considering it. I’d love to be able to ride year round and lanesplit without worrying about getting a ticket
